The
families
of
four
Oregon
soldiers
who
were
killed
in
action
will
soon
receive
hundreds
of
visitors
to
honor
the
memory
and
service
of
their
fallen
hero.
On
Thursday
August
19th,
more
than
300
motorcyclists
will
gear
up
to
ride
in
an
organized
procession
through
the
Willamette
Valley
to
present
a
memorial
plaque
of
distinguished
service
to
the
parents
and
families
of
four
heroes
who
lost
their
lives
in
the
current
war
in
Iraq
and
Afghanistan.
The
ride
is
the
first
of
its
kind
in
the
State
of
Oregon
and
will
be
hosted
by
country
star
Rockie
Lynne.
Rockie
has
done
a
ride
like
this
in
his
home
State
of
Minnesota
for
the
last
6
years,
with
great
success.
The
ride
begins
right
here
at
Salem
Harley
Davidson
on
Thursday
August
19th
and
will
make
its
way
through
Salem,
Monmouth,
Albany
and
Veneta.
At
each
stop,
Rockie
and
the
participating
riders
will
present
each
family
with
an
exclusive
plaque
honoring
the
fallen
hero.
The
ride
will
be
escorted
by
law
enforcement
officials
from
the
individual
counties,
Oregon
State
Police
and
Oregon
National
Guard.
The
ride
will
culminate
in
downtown
Brownsville
at
6:00pm
with
an
official
military
bell
ringing
ceremony,
the
playing
of
taps
and
a
21-gun
salute
to
all
veterans
from
the
State
of
Oregon.
Also
scheduled
to
be
represented
at
the
official
bell
ringing
ceremony
is
the
State
of
Oregon
Governor's
office.
The
Governor
has
also
authorized
the
use
of
the
historic
bell
from
the
USS
Sederstrom
which
is
currently
on
display
at
the
State
building
of
Veteran's
Affairs
in
Salem.
The
ride's
culmination
and
ceremony
is
also
part
of
the
Willamette
Country
Music
Festival's
official
Pre
Launch
Celebration
which
kicks
off
its
weekend
of
14
concerts.
Scheduled
to
perform
at
the
free
concert
at
the
ride's
conclusion
is
the
Main
Street
Band,
Amy
Clawson,
Brad
Lee
Schroeder,
Granger
Smith
and
ride
host
Rockie
Lynne.
Meet
&
greets
with
all
of
the
stars
is
also
on
the
schedule,
as
well
as
a
BBQ
meal
which
all
attendees
can
purchase.
The
ride's
military
bell
ringing
ceremony
and
festival
Pre
Launch
Celebration
is
located
at
Randy's
Main
Street
Coffee
at

Main
Street
in
Brownsville.
Meals
will
begin
being
served
at
5:00pm.
