MYRTLE BEACH’S CRUISIN’ THE COAST SPRING BIKE WEEK 2006
Bigger and Better Every Year!

Myrtle Beach, SC - Myrtle Beach, SC will once again be home to one of the most popular motorcycle rallies in the country in 2006, Jack Daniel’s presents Cruisin’ The Coast Spring Bike Week. The annual festival takes place May 12-21 and promises to be biggest rally ever in Myrtle Beach.

This year’s event begins on Mother’s Day Weekend and coincides with Darlington Raceway hosting nighttime BUSCH and NEXTEL CUP Races that same weekend. The first weekend of the rally will definitely be the busiest ever.

Another exciting addition to Spring Bike Week is the first ever Rat’s Hole Bike Show. It will be held May 18-19 at Barefoot Landing. The King Rat of all bike shows will take Spring Bike Week to another level.

Also, for the first time, look for Zippo Lighters and their customized Cruisin’ the Coast Lighters. It is the first time Zippo has customized lighters for Myrtle Beach Spring Bike Week. These will be in short supply and high demand.

In 2005, approximately 325,000 bikers (a new record) enjoyed nine days of sunshine filled weather, miles miles of new roads, some of the best biker bars in the country and 60 miles of sandy beaches and warm ocean waters.

The road improvements in Myrtle Beach continue to make it easier than ever for bikers to enjoy the open road: Hwy 31 now has 30 miles of roads with no stoplights and connects Hwy 544 on the south end to Hwy 9 on the north end; Hwy 22 has 26 miles of open road with no stoplights and connects to Hwy 31 and Hwy 501 west of Conway.

The new roads provide easy access to Wilmington, NC, Florence, SC Charleston, SC and have made Myrtle Beach one of the premier riding rallies in the country. It also provides for great day trips to some of the most scenic waterfronts in the nation.

The rally is also highlighted by the expansion of biker activities in the region. There are events and activities up and down the beach for nearly 60 miles.

In the last two years, North Myrtle Beach has been discovered by bikers with the expansion of events and activities at Barefoot Landing. One of South Carolina’s top tourist attractions, Barefoot Landing hosted over 70 vendors and live entertainment throughout the week.

HB Spokes, one of the best biker bars in the country, is also located in North Myrtle Beach and experienced record crowds during the rally. Open until the early morning hours each night, HB Spokes has constant live entertainment, vendors, biker games and contests. It is truly a unique experience and you definitely want to check it out.

Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson is the host dealership for the bike week activities and the main promoter of Jack Daniel’s presents Cruisin’ the Coast. You’ll always find something going on at one of the four locations. The main dealership on the south end of town hosts 50 plus vendors and is the hub of activity each day. It is a great place to see and be seen. You’ll see a little bit of everything.

The Harley Shop at the Beach, located in North Myrtle Beach, is also a premier location during Cruisin’ the Coast. This location is the main site for all Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson bike sales. Hundreds of motorcycles (new and used) will be for sale in a tent that has to be seen to be believed. In addition to the retail location that also has a service department and a building that sells discounted items. These sale items are only available during the Cruisin’ the Coast Rally.

Also, check out the great selection of items at Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson’s retail locations on Ocean Boulevard and at Broadway at the Beach.

Other premier vendor locations include Broadway at the Beach, which hosts 60 plus vendors and has live entertainment in Celebrity Square throughout the week. Celebrity Square is the premier night-time entertainment attraction in South Carolina.

Guests will also want to check out some of the best biker bars in the country in the Myrtle Beach area. Don’t miss Suck Bang Blow (SBB), The Doghouse, Dead Dog Saloon and The Bowery, each legendary biker bars. You won’t find better ways to spend your evenings then partying and people watching at these places.

Be sure to also visit the Iron Gate Saloon (right next to the main Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson location); Myrtle Beach Convention Center (hosted by the Carolina Harley-Davidson Dealers Association); and Broken Spoke Saloon in Garden City.

Those are just a sampling of the events going on in Myrtle Beach, during Cruisin’ the Coast. The list of great places and things to do could go on and on.

2006 Cruisin' the Coast
6th ANNUAL PUZZLE PIN
In an effort to give further identity and added fun to Bike Week, Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson came up with the theme of “Cruisin’ the Coast”. It is in honor of the legendary pirates who cruised the Atlantic coast in the 1700’s.

This year’s pirate is CAPTAIN RICHARD WORLEY. The logo for our rally is the flag Richard Worley flew during his reign. As you cruise the coast, be sure to stop at all the dealerships listed, make a $10 minimum purchase to collect all four pieces to create the pin. Click here to read more about Captain Worley and how to get each piece of the pin.
