Way
back
at
the
tail
end
of
last
winter,
Mike
and
I
sat
down
and
planned
our
summer
rides
not
knowing
how
much
interest
they
would
create.
So
to
have
our
last
ride
of
the
year
being
attended
by
close
to
30
bikes
and
nearly
40
participants,
we
were
pretty
pleased
with
how
well
the
rides
have
been
received
over
the
course
of
the
summer
by
you,
our
customers.
We
started
proceedings
a
little
later
than
usual,
Mike
was
desperately
trying
to
contact
the
restaurant
to
let
them
know
how
many
people
were
coming
(we
had
pre-empted
about
20
people!).
Once
that
had
been
taken
care
of
we
split
into
2
groups
and
set
off.
The
weather
once
again
had
been
kind
to
us,
blue
skies
and
just
the
lightest
of
chills
in
the
air,
making
our
steady
meander
through
the
countryside
more
enjoyable.
A
nice
series
of
twists
and
turns
on
Grey
Road
12
between
highways
6
and
10
excited
a
few
of
us.
Mike
had
to
curb
his
enthusiasm
for
cornering
reminding
himself
that
he
was
leading
the
ride
and
not
a
race.
We
eventually
made
our
way
down
into
the
Beaver
Valley
where
the
fall
colours
were
still
in
all
their
glory.
More
great
roads
and
breath-taking
scenery
lead
us
to
Bridges
Tavern
in
Thornbury
for
a
bite
to
eat.
Any
idea
of
brunch
had
long
been
removed
but
no
one
seemed
to
mind,
the
days
ride
had
been
equally
matched
by
the
good
company.
Tales
of
summer
riding
over
lunch
and
a
drink
filled
the
afternoon
until
it
was
time
to
head
back
on
the
last
stretch.
A
quick
trot
across
country
had
us
back
at
the
shop
in
no
time,
and
so
for
the
final
time
this
year
we
bid
each
other
farewell
and
headed
for
home
with
plans
for
next
year’s
rides
already
starting
to
hatch
in
my
head...
Thank
you
to
everyone
who
made
it
to
our
rides
this
year,
we
certainly
couldn’t
have
done
them
without
your
support.
And
once
again,
to
Mike
who
has
been
the
brains
behind
it
all
with
his
local
knowledge
of
roads
and
routes,
thank
you.
Until
next
year,
enjoy
the
winter!
Cheers...
Ian
