Fishing
Tips
for
March! |
The
natural
New
Year
starts
with
Spring
Equinox,
in
the
early
20’s
of
March,
and
marks
an
annual
turn
in
fishing
and
boating.
Leading
the
curve
is
lingcod
fishing,
a
beautiful
activity
for
a
beautiful
fish.
I
think
the
big
fins
and
wicked
teeth
are
very
attractive
in
a
fish,
personally,
and
exhibit
a
higher
stage
of
evolution
than
shown
by
smooth
silhouette,
cigar
shaped
predators.
Jerry
Butler,
formerly
Oregon
Dept.
of
Fish
and
Wildlife
marine
fish
(other
than
salmon)
biologist,
told
me
lingcod
start
spawning
in
deeper
water
at
about
Thanksgiving
time
and
the
spawning
moves
more
shallow
as
winter
goes
on.
Last
month
there
was
some
excellent
lingcod
fishing
in
deeper
water,
but
as
March
moves
on
they
should
be
closer
to
shoreline.
The
biggest
lingcod
are
females,
and
they
lay
the
most
eggs.
The
female
leaves
the
nest
area
right
after
eggs
are
lain
(stuck
to
a
rock)
and
the
male
fish
stays
to
defend
them
from
cabezon,
octopus
and
greenling
and
rockfish.
They
take
this
role
very
seriously
and
are
easy
to
trick
into
biting
jigs
or
bait.
Male
fish,
which
don't
get
all
that
much
larger
than
the
minimum
length,
stake
out
good
nesting
areas.
I
fish
lingcod
from
shore.
To
keep
from
wiping
out
nests,
I
fish
early
in
the
month
for
a
lingcod
or
two
and
then
back
off
from
fishing
those
very
limited
and
specific
spots.

yet
delicious
salmon
dip
recipe
that
will
add
something
new
to
your
cooking
collection
in
2011.
This
recipe
was
found
at
AllRecipes.com.
This
delicious
salmon
dip
recipe
is
titled
Salmon
Dip
and
it
looks
truly
delicious.
We

Ingredients
-

(8
ounce)
package
cream
cheese,
softened

½
cup
sour
cream

¼
cup
butter,
softened

tablespoons
chopped
pimento
peppers

parsley

teaspoon
grated
onion

(7
ounce)
piece
fresh
salmon,
bones
and
skin
removed

Preparation
Instructions

In
a
medium
bowl,
combine
the
cream
cheese,

the
month
was
found

and
goes
something
like
this;
Pirate
Lore-
I
was
in
a
local
tavern
in
a
time-hidden
little
coastal
town.
There
sat
a
crusty
old
pirate
enjoying
a
grog
in
the
corner.
I
was
curious
about
his
peg
leg,
eye
patch
and
hook
for
a
hand
so
I
pulled
up
a
chair
to
share
a
few
drinks.
Tell
me
sir,
I
said.
How
did
you
come
by
your
wooden
peg
leg?
Welllll
Maitey
-
he
drawled.
Me
mates
were
havin
a
bit
of
fun

we
were
all
drunk
on
deck

night.
