Welcome
to
the
Apache
Newsletter,
for
November
2011.
This
issue
has
some
treatment
for
mountain/
cold
weather
riding
as
well
as
a
special
look
at
what
Kawasaki
is
bringing
to
the
table
in
2012!
Ride
on!!! |

| Beat
the
Chill |
| Heading
to
the
Mountains?
Be
sure
to
Bundle
up. |
In
Arizona,
October
31st
is
more
than
just
Halloween,
It
is
the
first
indication
that
summer
doesn't
last
all
year
long
and
it
does
get
cold
(or
at
least
cooler)
in
the
sun-state.
Riding
your
motorcycle
or
ATV
whenever
the
weather
drops
below
50
degrees
can
be
a
painful
experience
(especially
with
the
added
windchill)
unless
you
go
prepared.
Here
are
a
few
tips
to
remember
to
beat
the
chill
especially
if
you
ride
in
the
mountains
or
commute
early
in
the
morning.
- Full
Face
Helmet-
Keeping
the
wind
out
of
your
face
can
make
all
the
difference
in
the
world
when
it
gets
cold
outside.
- balaclava-
"Ski
mask"
or
"Bank
Robber
mask"
is
what
the
balaclava
is
typically
known
for.
wearing
one
of
these
head
socks
will
help
your
ears
and
face
from
freezing
over
- Motorcycle
pants/jacket-
The
bread
and
butter
of
staying
warm
in
the
winter.
Wind
proof
gear
is
a
must!
- Heated
gloves-
When
riding
in
cooler
temperatures
your
hands
will
become
cold
quite
quickly
unless
you
have
proper
gloves.
Even
high
quality
insulated
winter
riding
gloves
will
not
keep
your
hands
from
becoming
cold
after
a
good
1/2
hr
on
your
motorcycle
- long
underwear-Skiers
swear
by
it,
and
anyone
else
who
spends
more
than
an
hour
out
in
below
freezing
temperatures
will
tell
you
-
long
underwear
is
essential
to
keeping
warm.
In
general,
don't
leave
your
skin
exposed,
keep
the
wind
away,
and
you
will
be
fine.
In
fact
most
of
us
in
Arizona
are
fine
without
anything
special
most
of
the
year!

2012
Ninja
650
The
Ninja
650
fits
a
niche
in
the
motorcycle
world.
It
is
distinctly
more
powerful
than
an
entry
level
250r
but
more
subdued
than
a
600
or
1000.
In
a
lot
of
ways,
the
Ninja
650
is
mainly
for
riders
looking
to
balance
performance
and
comfort.
Here
is

2012
ZX-14R
Not
to
be
ignored,
the
new
2012
ZX-14R
has
been
revealed
and
with
as
an
even
more
aggressive
larger
bike.
The
“R”
suffix
is
new
for
’12,
and
with
good
reason.
Kawasaki
has
stretched
the
stroke
from
61mm
to
65mm
which
has
raised
displacement
from
1352cc
to
1441cc.
The
KTRC
traction

and
ignition
management
system
from
the
ZX-10R

been
adapted
to
the
ZX-14R

three
ride
modes:Full
power,
medium
power
and
a
third
mode

wet
or
other
low-traction
situations.
The
ZX-14R
also
features
a
slipper
clutch
for
the
first
time,
to
protect
the
drivetrain
and
stabilize
the
chassis
when

or
braking
into
corners.
Kawasaki
continues
to
refine
and
improve
a
long
standing
reputation
of
