Never make a move based on the assumption that another driver sees you, even if you've just made eye contact. Bikes don't always register in the four-wheel mind. TECH TIPS HOW TO REMOVE MELTED ON BOOT MARKS AND TAR FROM YOUR PIPES Before attempting to remove the melted-on goo, make sure the pipes are cool to the touch. After washing with Sunwash Concentrate, follow with Harley Glaze Polish & Sealant. Harley Glaze has petroleum distillates that will help soften and break down the baked-on material. Put a generous dab of it on the spot and let it set for a few minutes. Next, scrape away the substance with an H-D Softcloth, an old credit card or anything else that won't scratch the surface of the pipes. Make sure anything you remove is not "rescrubbed" into the pipe surface; the contaminant itself may scratch the pipes. This is definitely one of the tougher cleaning jobs on a motorcycle, and some globs of gunk are so baked-on that even Harley Glaze won't work, but it's certainly worth a try!
