"CAUTION AHEAD IF YOU'RE NOT CHECKING THOSE TIRES"
Now that we are well into the riding season its time to remind you about something that is greatly overlooked. Your tires! Checking for proper air psi is simple but critical. Over or under inflated tires can lead to tire problems. Under inflated tires can affect cornering and can also cause tires to overheat, wear unevenly and crack. On the other hand, over inflating can result in a hard ride and greater wear in the center of the tire contact area. Always check your tire psi when they are cold! Riders should check they're owners manual for specifications for they're bike. Next; Check your tires for tread depth. especially on a wet road the bike can get very loose and you don't want that! On the Harley-Davidson tire gauge the Red zone is at 2/32" so that's about time you change your tire. If your tire gets to 1/32" You should have already changed your tire or tires!!! Also; Check your tires for foreign objects, cuts, punctures, or cracks. Stop by our Parts Department and invest in one of the Harley-Davidson easy to read tire gauges for YOUR safety and the ones you ride with.
