GET READY FOR SUMMER RIDING

For all you Harley-Davidson enthusiasts, summer means freedom. The weather is good, the days are long, vacations are imminent and even a regular weekend can seem like a holiday-providing, of course, that it is spent in the saddle, on the road, touring, meeting friends, enjoying the lifestyle.

Summer also is the time when some riders scale back on wearing protective clothing or gear. It is tempting to wear as little as possible because it’s hot outside; however, you have probably never heard anyone who has been dehydrated, sunburned, hit by debris or in an accident – rider or passenger – say, “Thank goodness it was summertime and I was wearing only a T-shirt and shorts.” So no matter what the season, protective riding gear is a must.

Many of you may not be aware of the advancements and features that Harley-Davidson has developed for summer conditions. San Jose Harley-Davidson has a huge variety of summer riding gear, so come on down and check out the gear that will make you Safe, Cool and Comfortable.

2004 Harley-Davidson® FLHTCSE Screamin' Eagle® Electra Glide®
Harley-Davidson is breaking all the rules. Built on the framework of a FLHTC Electra Glide® Classic, the Screamin’ Eagle® Electra Glide® puts the "sport" in sport touring. The Candy Cobalt and Starlight Black or Orange Pearl and Jet Black custom paint will draw attention like no other, and close examination of the contrasting dual pinstripes and subtle flame accents show the attention to detail that is standard equipment on every CVO motorcycle. But this Electra Glide® won’t stay in one place for long. The Silver and Chrome 103 cubic inch "Stroker" Twin Cam powertrain (with Screamin’ Eagle® tuning) lets the FLHTCSE control the road. Grab the hydraulic lever that tames the high-performance clutch, drop it into gear, and let it roll.

Exclusive features abound. From the custom leather seat with perforated seating surface, you’ll see a low profile smoked wind deflector, painted inner fairing, engine-turned instrument faces, chrome bars with internal wiring, and a custom full-length fuel tank console. The ribbed chrome and rubber hand grips, streamlined rider floor boards and mini passenger boards add a finishing touch. The FLHTCSE features Detonator three-spoke custom wheels, low front and rear suspension, chrome fork sliders and bullet style turn signals. Even the passing lamp mounts are styled for that low, clean look. Crank up the tunes on the 60-watt AM/FM/CD player with integral amplifier, set the standard cruise control, and get ready to pile up the miles.

But custom paint and exclusive features isn’t all that makes the FLHTCSE unique. Only a limited number of these will ever be produced.

2004 Harley-Davidson® VRSCA V-Rod®
Your eyes are not playing tricks on you. What you’re seeing here is indeed 115 horses of a very different color. The muscle-and-metal-to-the-max VRSCA V-Rod® gone tinted. For 2004, we took the aluminum bodywork through the paint booth and came up with some standout shades, including Lava Red Sunglo that’s sure to stop a sidewalk full of pedestrians dead in their tracks. From there, we went further. The perimeter frame has a new sliver-leaf powder-coat for sheen. The overall effect carries on its crowd-drawing tradition. And it enhances the long, low hot rod theme provided by the 49mm, 38° raked fork, 180mm rear tire, solid disc wheels and sweeping exhaust. The strapping, 60° V-Twin Revolution® power plant sends it all blistering into motion. Liquid-cooled and fuel-injected, it displaces 1130cc and pumps out 115 horsepower. For those who agree lots of power equals lots of good.

Availability of colors may vary from dealer to dealer, and is subject to change without notice.
Pearl: additional $200
