signs

Varnes
as
tuner
(Lebanon,
PA).
Colonial
Heights,
VA
Mike
Hacker's
history
on
the
circuit
is
an
impressionable
one.
In
2006
he
finished
in
the
top
ten
and
took
a
win
at
Mineral
Wells,
WV.
Although
he
ran
his
own
successful
team
in
2006,
Hacker
realized
the
importance
of
a
tuner/rider
relationship
that
benefits
in
a
team
environment.
Several
phone
calls
and
emails
later,
Mike
Hacker
and
Mike
Varnes
decided
to
join
forces
and
expand
their
outlook
for
2007.
Mike
Varnes,
with
twelve
years
of
professional
racing
under
his
belt,
as
well
as
his
association
with
White's
Harley-Davidson
since
1992,
switched
his
expertise
to
Team
Manager
and
Mechanic.
Varnes
started
his
new
career
with
Raun
Wood
(2005),
and
later
came
Sam
Halbert
(2006).
Both
riders
finished
in
the
top
20.
His
best
finish
as
a
tuner
was
with
Sam
Halbert,
who
took
a
second
at
Daytona.
His
combination
(racer/tuner)
will
benefit
Hacker
both
on
and
off
the
track.
"I
was
out
to
dinner
with
some
very
respectable
friends
one
night
and
the
discussion
of
who
was
going
to
ride
for
White's
H-D
came
up,
and
Mike
Hacker's
name
was
brought
up.
I
was
informed
he
was
looking
for
someone
to
help
out
his
program.
It
seemed
like
a
perfect
match.
White's
H-D
needed
someone
who
was
ready
to
win
races,
which
Hacker
proved
this
year.
Hacker
needed
someone
to
take
the
burden
of
working
on
motorcycles
from
him,
which
we
are
ready
to
do,"
Mike
Varnes
explains.

an

1984
to
take

the
family
