SAFETY TIPS
By: Dave Harris
Have you given your bike a good once over, if not please do, for the time has come to RIDE AND HAVE FUN. Here are some helpful reminders
1. RIDING GEAR- A HELMET is the first safety item you should ACQUIR, they can save a life, eye wear, jacket, chaps and gloves are a good start. Having a few other items can make a big deference in comfort when you encounter bad weather. Rain gear is one of those items.
2. THE BIKE- A good inspection before you load your bike for a long or short trip is Highly and Strongly recommended . A good starting place is the TIRES.
3 .TIRES- Inspecting the tread for nails, cut, tread depth, uneven tread wear. Finding any of these problems means new tires.
4. BREAKS- A visual break pad inspection can be done. Looking at the thickness of the pad can be a good indicator of break wear. Checking the rotor for deep scratches can also be a good indicator you have a break problem. Checking your break fluid levels can be away of telling if you have a leak in your system or a more serious problem.
5. LIGHTS- Turn signals, break light, headlight low& high beam. A weak low or high beam can be a indication your head light is going bad. Carrying a extra light bulb for you turn signal and break lights can get you out of a pinch at night.
So get your bikes ready for the up coming year. Please ride safe, ride often and we will see you on the highways and byways.

If you have any questions please contact a certified mechanic. If you find any of these items in poor or questionable condition FIX IT IMMEDIATELY
