there

thieves

just

your

As
the
sport

motorcycle
riding
grows,

the
rate
and
incidence
of
theft.

National
Insurance
Crime
Bureau
indictated
more

70,000
motorcycles
stolen
in
the
US
in
2005
alone,

highest
states

pointers

keep

bike
safe,
although
none

these
methods

fool

Install
a
Lojack
tracking
device
or
audible
alarm
on
your
street
bike.
Alarms
are
a
great
deterent
with
amateur
thieves.
2.
Use
a
cable
lock
and
secure
your
bike
or
ATV
to
a
solid
structure
like
a
fence
post
or
light
pole,
even
keep
it
chained
up
in
the
garage.
Cable
locks
can
be
usually
be
purchased
for
around
$20.
A
low
cost
compared
to
the
cost
of
replacing
your
lost
bike!
3.
Never
leave
your
bike
unattended--this
goes
double
for
off
road
guys
that
leave
their
machines
in
the
back
of
pick-up
trucks
and
trailers.
4.
Keep
your
VIN
number
and
license
plate
numbers
in
a
convenient
location
in
the
event
you
have
to
report
your
bike
stolen.
This
way
the
police
can
make
an
accurate
report
and
find
it
ASAP.
Also,
if
your
bike
is
Lojack
equipped
this
will
allow
the
unit
to
automatically
activate
the
moment
police
call
in
the
report.
Any
delay
in
getting
the
information
out
to
the
right
people
will
delay
the
safe
return
of
your
bike.
5.
Photos
of
your
bike
will
also
help
police
find
your
bike
as
well
help
your
insurance
adjuster
determine
it's
value.
Any
type

documentation
in
regards
to
accessories,

etc...
should
also
be
kept

safe

settled
