MONTHLY MEETINGS
Now for those that haven't been coming to the monthly meeting held every 3rd Saturday of the month, here is a little info you may not know about....we not only give you updates on all the events but we do a "ROLL OVER" drawing. For those that don't know what that is....every members name is put in a bag, a name is drawn at every monthly meeting, if your not there at the time of the drawing you loose out on a cash prize. We put cash in the kitty everytime someone is not present to collect it. We also have give aways. Gee wiz folks, it is just one Saturday out of the month and those meetings are so informative. For those that are new, come meet the gang. Our NEXT MONTHLY MEETING WILL BE ON MARCH 17TH AT 9:00AM.
We are looking forward to seeing you there.

RIDES FROM THE NEAR PAST
LOH RIDE TO THE OLIVE GARDEN
Saturday, February 10, 2007 LOH Valentines Ride to the Queen Creek Olive Mill. It was a beautiful morning for a ride, with temps in the high 60’s. After the pre ride briefing the group of 15 riders set off for breakfast at the Paradise Bakery in Mesa, (Val Vista and RT60).
After breakfast and three hours before the tour the group headed south on Val Vista to the San Tan Freeway west to Gilbert Rd. RT87 south past Sacaton thru Coolidge to the Hunt Hwy and up Ellsworth Rd to Cloud Rd to the Olive Mill.
The Queen Creek Olive Mill is Arizona’s first working olive farm and mill. Owners Perry and Brenda Rea, run and operate the farm and mill. They press Arizona’s finest extra virgin olive oil from nine different varieties of olives.Their olive grove is at the base of the San Tan Mountains in an area known for its fertile soil. In the Gila River flood plains, this region is famous for its high quality fruits and vegetables. The combination of long sunny days and cool desert nights provide ideal growing conditions for their trees. From the reports I received everyone had a good time and found the Olive Mill a very interesting place to visit and have lunch, a Chapter chase vehicle arrived with lunch for the group. Happy Valentines Day...

WEDNESDAY IMPROMPTU RIDE PUT ON BY
JOHN C.
Wednesday, February 14, 2007. Impromptu Ride to Phil’s Filling Station Restaurant in Fountain Hills led by John Cat and Larry Everson ,who today is qualifying for a Road Captain. After the pre ride briefing, given by Larry the group of 8 riders headed to University Rd. Right on to Ellsworth Rd to the Bush Hwy, crossing RT87 south to Shea Blvd and into Fountain Hills to Phil’s.
A great breakfast was served as the group relaxed and talked about where to ride to next. After breakfast it was decided to ride to Cave Creek and the Hideaway Grill. It was turning out to be a good day for riding. Riding to Cave Creek one must be careful when passing thru Carefree. Carefree has a noise ordinance and is known for pulling over motorcycles for loud pipes. A ticket and fine is the outcome for a lot of bikers. So be safe, obey the speed limit and no revving engines. The noise police are everywhere. February 14, 1912 President Taft signed Arizona Statehood Bill. Phil’s Filling Station Restaurant 11044 Saguaro Blvd Fountain Hills, AZ. (480-837-0592) Great breakfast, thanks Larry. A place we should visit again soon.

OOPS!!!!!!!!!
During the Lost Dutchman Parade, Mike lost control of his bike and hit his head on the pavement. He sent a big scare thru the Chapter as well as spectators at the parade. He was air transported to Scottsdale Osborn Hospital. Updated news was being sent to all Chapter members throughout the day to keep him in our prayers.
Thanks so much to all of you it worked.
.
Yes, one of our own went down, but never fear, he is alright. A bit of the ego hurt more than anything, but it goes to show you that trying to get a bike to act like a bucking horse, isnt quite the same as being on a horse...ouch....sorry Mike...we are just glad you are alright. Besides, if you can't laugh at yourself no one else will.
We love you Mike and so glad you are good to go.
What a close call, a few stitches, lost hair, bruises and feeling a little foolish.
And this too shall pass.

THE DAY AFTER
Sunday, February 25, 2007 on our way to the Corral Buffet, we, the chapter riders, stopped at Mike’s house to see how he was doing.
We couldnt pass up an opportunity to let him know how much we cared. Oh yes, and to let him know that he has been demoted from Road Captain to Road Private....LOL....joking Mike.
