Beware of the creatures of the night
We're not talking about goblins, ghouls, or witches; beware
of the whitetail deer that will be traveling this month & November
for the mating season which is called "The Rut". Whitetail deer will
be moving more in the next 2 months, so keep your high beams on
as much as possible because theeir eyes will glow,especially on
back country roads. If you do see a deer cross in front of you...
slow way down...deer travel in groups so when one does cross the
road there is a good chance there will be more to follow. Honking your
horn or flashing your lights does not work to get them off the road;
it actually confuses them and improves your chances of hitting them
or ones that come out of the woods running. There are more and
more deer & vehicle collisions every year, so please be careful! |
